Practical- Web workshop.

I decided to attend Lorraine's web workshop so that I could refresh myself with web coding again before starting to build my website.


  • Photoshop tips
  • Slice tool- snap to a grid/guide 
  • Cut out of an image  
  • Images- save for web
  • Two colours- save as a GIF as faster to download 
  • Shift and select multiple thinks to save 
  • Quick output
  • Dreamweaver user tips 
  • Decide on pixels or percentage from start- convert after if you need to 
  • Edit- select parent tag 
  • Selects dividers and sections of codes
  • Collapse sections to make working in on section easier (button in side bar)
  • File- multi-screen preview 
  • Comments (button in side bar) 
  • Organise at a glance 
  • Apply comments to hide areas of codes when trying out new things 
  • Apply comments in HTML and CSS
  • Commands- check spelling 
  • Use for body copy 
  • Snippets- code library 
  • Select parent tag through code lines 
  • Code wanting to make snippet 
  • Create new snippet (button at bottom of side menu) 
  • Only works on own compute 
Workshop was very useful for my practical and gave me some helpful tips that will speed up the process which is much needed with the little time left before the deadline. At the end of the workshop I had some time to start thinking about a possible website layout to work on later. I will work on this further through several scamps and wire frame before coding.
