Looking back at the Fontsmith website where I received the printed specimens from I found a digital specimen guide of one of their other fonts. This is great research for me as this is exactly what I want to achieve with my own designs.
From this I can see that they give the font a personality through the copy wrote in order to sell it and create this in reflection to the name and overall visual of the letters. This is something to definitely consider and by giving my own font a personality I can include some of the research and points I have made from my written investigation. Hopefully improving the theory and practical synthesis. Similar to the printed versions it uses bright colours and display of quotes to show off the visual and readability of the font. These direct similarities between print and screen are also something I want to mimic in my own designs because the aim of my product is to show that letterpress aesthetic can be used in exactly the same way as in print but now digitally to deceit the audience into not knowing what is print or digital.
